ಕಸ್ತೂರಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆ started in 2018 as an informal initiative called “Kannada Kali” in Montreal. With a team of five volunteer parent-teachers, we took turns teaching Kannada to small groups of children on alternate weekends. Our shared passion for language preservation and community support helped us sustain this initiative.

Over the years, what began as small gatherings of motivated parents has blossomed into a full-fledged school. Now, in collaboration with the prestigious Kannada Academy and the support of Kannada Koota Montreal, we are proud to announce the formal establishment of ಕಸ್ತೂರಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆ.

Today, the school caters to 30+ children, with a dedicated team of 7 teachers, 2 administrative staff, and a Principal working together to offer a holistic and engaging learning experience. As we step into our third year, we continue to grow and reach more children in our community.

At ಕಸ್ತೂರಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆ, we believe in the power of community-driven education. If you have experience in teaching Kannada or are passionate about helping children learn their mother tongue, we invite you to volunteer as a Kannada teacher. We will provide all the necessary training and support to get you started, and we assure you it will be an incredibly rewarding experience!
